As a boy, Maruti followed his grandfather into the dense jungle to gather wild honey. The elders called the waterfall the 'Plunge of the Gods.' They believed the roaring water held ancient, cleansing magic. He still remembers the sharp scent of damp moss and the cold, terrifying rush of wind that pushed against their chests as they neared the clearing. Back then, they approached the turquoise pool with bare feet and hushed voices. They never dared to swim; it was a place for reverence, not recreation. Today, the village has changed, and the trails are busy. Yet, when the heavy rains come and the thunder rolls across the valley, Maruti smiles. He knows the ancient spirit of the waters remains untouched.
