I waded into the natural pool at its base, the water biting cold against my tired shins. Tiny pebbles shifted beneath my bare feet as the fierce mist coated my face like ice needles. Looking up, I saw massive honeycombs clinging precariously to the damp overhanging cliffs, entirely undisturbed by the roaring torrent. Standing there in that spray-filled amphitheater, the rest of the world simply ceased to exist, replaced entirely by the relentless, beautiful rush of the wild.
