Every single leaf in the evergreen forest was dripping, creating a steady, hypnotic rhythm against the forest floor. Suddenly, a massive gust of upward wind caught the falling water, throwing the spray straight back up into the sky like an inverted fountain. It felt like the mountain itself was breathing water. The sharp, clean scent of wild moss and wet basalt filled my lungs. There were no tour buses, no selfie sticks, and no noisy crowds. In that wild, stormy moment, I realized that the mountains do not belong to us; we are just temporary ghosts passing through their mist.
