A Rainy Sunday Escape to the Hidden Waterfall of Vihigaon

Leaving the noisy city behind, a tired traveler finds peace under a beautiful, roaring cascade of water hidden in the hills.

Ashoka Waterfall, Maharashtra
The heavy Mumbai rain beat hard against my car window. I was tired of city traffic and crowded streets, so I took a turn toward the green hills of Igatpuri. Soon, the concrete towers disappeared, replaced by bright green fields. When I stepped out of the car in Vihigaon village, the air smelled wonderfully clean, like fresh earth and wet grass.

A muddy trail led me straight to Ashoka Waterfall. The sight was amazing. White water crashed down a giant dark cliff into a pool below, making a loud, powerful sound. A cool, gentle mist sprayed across my face, washing away all my stress. Families were sitting on the rocks, laughing and enjoying hot corn on the cob. I walked down and dipped my feet into the cool water. The chill made me shiver, but it felt incredibly refreshing. Watching the white foam swirl around my ankles, the worries of the past week completely melted away. Sometimes, a quiet afternoon in nature is all you need to find your smile again.
