An Unforgettable Adventure: Conquering Harishchandragad

The Thrill of the Climb, the Edge of the World, and a Night Under the Stars

Harishchandragad Fort, Maharashtra
The trek up via the infamous Nalichi Vaat route was an absolute beast, forcing us to scramble up near-vertical rock patches and focus through miles of crumbling scree. Our muscles were screaming, but the adrenaline kept us pushing forward toward the summit.

When we finally reached Konkan Kada, nothing could prepare me for the sheer scale of it. Standing on that massive cliff overhang—which curves inward like a giant cobra’s hood—I felt an intense mix of absolute awe and mild vertigo, looking straight down a 2,000-foot drop into the misty Konkan plains while the wind roared around us.

Later that evening, the grueling climb faded into a distant memory as we pitched our tents near the ancient, water-filled Kedareshwar Cave. Crawling into my sleeping bag under a brilliant blanket of stars, surrounded by centuries of history, I realized this wasn't just a weekend trek. It was a beautiful, wild reminder of what it truly means to feel alive.
