Pushing through a dense thicket of dripping ferns, the heavy mist suddenly split wide open. There it was. The Karul Ghat waterfall cascaded furiously down a sheer 100-foot basalt cliff, exploding into the valley below like molten silver. Frozen in awe, icy spray stinging my face, I watched the torrent slice through the emerald wilderness. In that chaotic, rain-drenched wilderness, the sheer fury of nature felt completely humbling. The treacherous, winding trek was instantly forgotten. I was entirely alive, caught in the breathless embrace of the mountains. Some places demand your absolute surrender before they reveal their greatest magic.
