The deafening rumble vibrated straight through the stone floor and into the soles of my feet. Stepping into the dim, flickering light of the cavern, a profound hush swallowed the outside chaos. Oil lamps cast long, dancing shadows across the rock formations where wild, venomous cobras are said to live in perfect peace with the pilgrims. I knelt before the ancient Shiva lingam, my skin tingling from the icy, stray mist blowing in from the threshold.
Outside was absolute fury; inside was absolute surrender. It became clear that the true magic of this mountain wasn't just the height of its drop, but the impossible peace it protected at its very heart.
The storm continued to bash the valley, but the stillness inside the cave had already settled deep within me.
